My name is Corie McCowin, and I am from Omaha, Nebraska. This year I am a Senior at Omaha North High Magnet School. I started getting into videojournalism in my sophomore year as a participant in PBS Student Reporting Labs. Since then I have been an active participant in their program, doing several of their Rapid Responses and even producing my own story. Since last year I have been on my school’s broadcasting team. Creating videos for our weekly broadcast called Viking TV. Over this summer I was chosen as a 2020 Gwen Ifill Fellow and created a story about the virtual learning experience of high school students in my city. Now, I am on the journey of deciding my plan for college. I am planning to pursue a career in the journalism/ mass communications field.
