Jere Hester is the founding Editor in Chief of THE CITY, an independent, nonprofit news outlet dedicated to hard-hitting reporting that serves New Yorkers. He most recently worked as News Director and Director of the Reporting and Writing program at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, where he established the NYCity News Service. Hester, a lifelong Brooklynite, was previously City Editor of the NY Daily News, where he started as a reporter.
