Saniat Sohrawadi (John) is a Ph.D. student at the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology. He graduated in Computer Science and Engineering from North South University in Bangladesh. For the past two years, he has been working on the DeFake project aimed at developing tools and methods to help journalists detect deepfake videos. Over the course of the project, he has worked with journalists from several national and international newsrooms. His research was presented in Cybersecurity, AI and Journalism venues.
