Sara E. Gonzales is currently a journalism adviser and teacher for Patricia E. Paetow High School in Katy, Texas. She has been recognized as a Journalism Educators Association Diversity Award Nominee, an ASNE Emerging Leader, and Texas State University Rising Star Nominee. Gonzales graduated with a bachelor's of arts in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Electronic Media from Texas State University with a minor in Photography. Recently, she has served as the Houston leader for the Online News Association and was the only teacher out of the country accepted into the American Society of News Editors Emerging Leaders Institute. During the summer of 2019, she was the only high school educator in the world accepted into the World Journalism Education Congress to teach on diversity in scholastic journalism, in Paris, France.
