A practical deep-dive into how journalists can avoid pitfalls and find valuable new angles and stories from Sub-Reddit communities and Facebook groups.
Following on from a research fellowship project I conducted in Harvard in 2018 (see: https://www.niemanlab.org/author/mfrankel/) I’m pulling together new research on how journalists can make the most of semi-closed social media groups and communities. This research will include a practical ‘how to’ resource guide for media professionals. During this session I will walk through some examples of how these platforms, when used appropriately, can provide a treasure trove of information for journalists and will outline some useful best practice tips and tricks.
