Our energetic community will gather for ONA20 Everywhere Oct. 1-16 (but not on the weekends!). Our conference days will be packed with exciting learning opportunities, networking meetups and other fun, inspiring events.
Your conference pass includes access to most educational events and networking opportunities, including our Welcome Reception bash, recruiting events, (BYO) coffee breaks and the Midway — our exhibit and demo space. Please note that some networking opportunities and workshops may require a free RSVP closer to the event.
The Online Journalism Awards, honoring the year’s best digital journalism from around the world, will be celebrated throughout the conference. Participants will have free access to all of the award ceremony proceedings.
ONA members save more than 35% off the non-member conference pass price and student passes are $50.
Conference Pass rates
* Our limited-time Community Rate expired on Aug. 25. It was a special members-only discount.
Account creation note: ONA’s online event platform is separate from the ONA membership platform, so you’ll need to create a new account for ONA20 during registration, and use those credentials to participate in the conference. However, if you attended any ONA Insights online events earlier this year, you can use those account credentials to register for and participate in ONA20.
To get the discount for ONA members: Just log in to your ONA membership account first and grab the coupon code. Then, come right back here and purchase your registration! Not an ONA member? Join here first.
Group registration discount
Groups of 10 or more registering together for Conference or Deadline rates can receive a discount of $25 per ticket. Group registrations must be processed via the online registration form. Contact email@example.com for more information.
Group registrations do not qualify for Student or Community rates.
ONA20 student registrations are reserved for high school, college and university students, including undergraduate, graduate and associate degree students. Student Pass attendees should include the name of their affiliated educational institution in the Organization field of the registration form.
Please note: Graduate students who are employed full time and students in certificate programs are not eligible for an ONA20 student registration; however, you may qualify for scholarships being granted this year. Learn more about eligibility requirements on our opportunities page.
We have speaking calls and four scholarship programs open from Aug. 19 through Thursday, Sept. 3. Additionally, we have volunteer roles open on a rolling basis. See our opportunities page for information on the various ways you can get involved with ONA20 Everywhere.
Conference T-shirts & more
We’re excited to introduce the ONA20 Everywhere Swag Shop, stocked with T-shirts in cuts for the whole family, a tote bag, mask and notebook so you can rock your ONA Community pride.
All purchases help to fund registration scholarships for people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend our conference, as well as other ONA programs. Learn more about how to get your gear in time for ONA20 Everywhere.
Refunds & transfers
Unable to attend the conference? We’ll do our best to support you. Please read the following carefully.
All refunds and transfers must be requested by Friday, Sept. 24, 2020. No refunds or transfers will be given after that date. Refunds will incur a $20 administrative fee. (There is no fee for a student registration refund.)
All transfers are complementary. However, registrations made at the ONA member rate may only be transferred to another ONA member. If not already a member, the prospective attendee should join ONA here before the transfer is requested. (Membership fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.)
Non-attendance does not constitute a cancellation.
To request a refund or transfer, please complete this form.
We consider many aspects of accessibility when planning our conference sessions and networking events. We’ve compiled a detailed explanation of what to expect in terms of accessibility and will update the page as we learn more about our capabilities for ONA20.
Please familiarize yourself with ONA’s policies:
Staff, supporters, volunteers, attendees and speakers are expected to adhere to ONA’s Code of Conduct.
ONA20 Everywhere is a virtual event deploying multiple tools for learning, networking and socializing. Events are subject to being photographed, video/audio-recorded, screen captured and/or live-streamed. Attendees, exhibitors, special guests, presenters and partners of events may be captured via these formats. All conference sessions, materials and activities are subject to recording by ONA and may be reproduced in part or whole, and distributed or used in any way ONA deems appropriate, including in promotional materials. By registering for ONA20 Everywhere, participants consent to such distribution and use.
Information collected during registration helps ONA see attendee trends and patterns, as well as plan programming, networking activities and events. We will use Name, Job title, Organization, Twitter and location by city, state and country (excluding addresses) to create an attendee list shared with registered attendees. ONA does not sell attendee information and we work to keep your contact information secure. Read more about how we handle guest information.
