As we get closer to hosting our annual conference, we’ve opened a number of terrific opportunities to get involved with ONA20 Everywhere. You can check out the full list on our opportunities page, or read on for a quick summary and direct links to specific opportunities that make sense for you.
Speaking opportunities
Our Suggestion Box closed in April, right as many government officials around the world were issuing stay-at-home directives, so we wanted to be sure folks still had an opportunity to pitch ideas to the conference. Additionally, it has been such a rapidly-evolving news year, we wanted to be sure to have recent information on a couple of key topics. New sessions in this call will be pre-recorded, so you can talk to other participants or enjoy the rest of the conference.
Already planning to attend ONA20? We’ve also posted our annual ask for lightning talk submissions – fun, 5-minute presentations on topics related to what news organizations will look like beyond COVID-19.

Sponsor ONA20 Everywhere
We’ve been hard at work on a host of new sponsor opportunities for ONA20. This includes combining our exhibit hall and Midway spaces into one all-encompassing Midway – a futures lab for the best in the media technology, tools and workforce space. This includes opportunities for programming and more. We’re also offering new products and outreach opportunities for this year.
Visit our sponsor page to learn more about the variety of ways to connect with our community.
Volunteering at ONA20
Like everything else, we’ve had to re-envision how to create a volunteer experience at ONA20. New roles will ensure presenters and participants have a good time, and create the warm and energetic environment ONA events are well-known for.
