A collaborative session where attendees will share best practices and brainstorm new ideas for post-election coverage.
The news cycle is currently dominated by reports on the COVID-19 pandemic and will soon also be filled with the lead-up to the 2020 election. Most news organizations won’t have much time to dedicate to post-election coverage preparation. Yet pre-planning different scenarios for the aftermath of the election and figuring out creative plans is paramount for the news media –and the functioning of democracy more broadly. This session will bring journalists and news leaders together to share tips and to collaborate on new ideas for successful post-election coverage that discuss the legitimacy of the election and brings together communities after what is sure to be a tense campaign.
