Not all news is bad news: How we’re inspiring — and monetizing — Facebook with “The Uplift”

We launched and grew a Facebook first-video series by telling inspiring stories and optimizing for the share.

In October 2018, CBS News launched The Uplift, a Facebook-first video series aimed at bringing feel-good stories to our audience. A year-and-a-half later, The Uplift has 3 billion views, all organic, and continues to grow. Social media director Christina Capatides and social producer Caitlin O’Kane dig into how they grow an organic audience by telling stories that will resonate — and optimizing for the share.
