Innovation Happens Everywhere: How to Effectively Drive Data Reporting on Innovation In Communities of Color

Get better at building relationships, identifying ecosystem leaders, and accessing useful data in covering innovation ecosystems in communities of color.

From leading tech startups to entering coding programs, communities of color are participating in the innovation economy: but we wouldn’t know that from reading the news. This session provides practical tips for establishing long-term relationships and trust with ecosystem leaders and programs. We will also explore how to find and locate data that demonstrates how rising communities, companies, leaders, and workforces led by people of color are integrated into the larger political, economic, and social framework of the high tech economy. Case studies will be shared from The Plug, a digital news and insights platform the covers the Black innovation economy.
